Although the Pedal Power Association primarily facilitates recreational cycling, it supports cycle racing through organising "leagues", currently known as the Etelecare Pro Classic Series, to take place in conjunction with selected road funrides.

The Executive Committee's racing portfolio is headed by Chris Basson, who also heads up the Western Province Cycling Association.

Riders who participate in the "leagues", need to qualify to do so based on past results, and hold a specific PPA seeding. In addition, they need to hold a valid Cycling South Africa racing license (albeit a full or cyclosport license). Cyclists need to register to ride in the racing ("leagues") section of selected funrides by entering the Pro Classic series. Read more in the leagues section on this website.
